The concept of mud crabs in a bucket pulling each other down, AKA crablike mentality/thinking, really resonated with me as it reminded me of the environment I grew up in as a kid.
So I looked everywhere for the story and discovered that although this idea existed in many cultures across the globe, including my own (Samoan), nothing had actually being written. The Human Race 550 words
I wrote this out of the sheer frustration I had with the politics happening both here in Australia and in the world today. I thought that if I could write a children's story that challenged the status quo, I could, in theory inspire a positive change and develop a win/win/win situation in the next generation.
